I used to hold almost everything in.
The good, the bad, the ugly….the real.
Something upset me…hold it in.
If something made me uncomfortable…hold it in.
When something scared me…hold it in.
Excitement…hold it back.
What I want…don’t say it out loud.
What I need…what if I express it and it backfires.
Not only did this make me a ticking time bomb…But it kept me from taking action that would evoke change.
If I express this…I may be criticized, they may get upset, they may reject me, I might look weak, or maybe I’m wrong.
But here’s the thing…when you don’t know how to communicate or you’re afraid to, nobody knows what you’re thinking or feeling.
They don’t know who you truly are or what you want or need.
You miss out on opportunities.
On connection.
Enjoyment.
Fun.
Authentic communication and expression draws in the life you truly want.
It’s a skill you can learn at any time and master.
I work on this daily.
I get more and more comfortable with this daily.
And the more I do, the better life gets.
The more I understand who I am.
The more what is a match to the real me becomes clear.
You be you.
Express it.
Say it.
Do it.
Put it out there…Even when it’s scary or uncomfortable…Because the more you do it, the easier it gets.
The better you feel.
The bigger and brighter you become.

Dana
