You are the only person that can allow what you want. You are also the only person that can withhold what you want.
You see, your thoughts create your reality. Many people think that the reality they are experiencing is responsible for how and what they think about and feel. So there is no focus, no pickiness regarding thought, no changing the channel, no walking away from a negative conversation, not engaging in debate regarding something unwanted. It is not the circumstance that is responsible for how you feel and what you think, it’s you. You haven’t realized just how much power you have because you haven’t focused long enough on what you want to see the evidence.
Currently there are stories you keep repeating over and over that are withholding the improved condition. Currently you are focusing on things you can’t control and that have nothing to do with you. Currently you are watching shows that conjure negative emotion and stories of powerlessness. All of these things perpetuate unwanted conditions and unwanted emotion. If you give something attention, you are inviting it into your life, plain and simple. Every time you talk about or pay attention to something you are saying yes to it.
Everything you want is so close and everything is a sure thing as soon as you will allow it. What does that mean? All that means is relaxing long enough, not engaging in those conversations, not watching that show, not talking to your friend about the job you hate, it means not eating that row of Oreos when you’re on a specific diet that doesn’t include cookies at night, it means talking and acting less and feeling more. When you feel compelled to tell that story, whether it is in your mind or out loud, stop. When you are about to engage in self-destructive behavior, stop. When you’re about to watch CNN, stop. If you can keep yourself from doing what you always do and instead pay attention to the emotion behind it you can begin the shift.
You have three options when dealing with something unwanted, painful, or negative. You can accept it, you can change it, or you can remove yourself from it. This is the best tactic to use when you’re beginning to take control of your thoughts and emotions.
The only way to get clear and certain about what you want is to be in a good enough place to see it. By not engaging in those same behaviors and stories you can focus on things that put you in a more positive state. It is here that things become clear. It is here where old stories you have been telling are noticed. It is here where you can tell how a specific subject makes you feel so you can shift it.
Remember you create your own reality and YOU are free to think any thought that you would like. True freedom is understanding that only you can think for you and in turn you can create any reality you would like.
