What’s Your Story?

power of your story

What’s Your Story?

What are the stories that you tell yourself and other people? Who are you in relationship to others, to life, to situations, to a higher power? What are your day to day accounts of life?

Are you a victim? A victor? An equal to others? Are you strong? Are you weak? Are you smart? Are you beautiful? Do you believe you have a choice in deciding the direction of your life? Or do you believe others, even God has it figured out FOR you. What is your story? Did you decide what it is, or did someone else?

There are empowering ways to look at life. There are empowering ways to recount circumstances we liked and didn’t. There are empowering ways to have faith in a higher power. There are empowering ways to look at yourself. There are empowering ways to make decisions. There are empowering ways to decide the direction of your life.

There are also dis-empowering ways to look at all of the same things.

The stories you CHOOSE to tell become your life. The stories you tell and think are responsible for how you feel in your own life. And all of these stories you tell are a  CHOICE. So what stories do you tell?

Be really honest with yourself about this. What do you believe about yourself in relationship to your life and in relationship to others. Are you better than them? Less than them? Do they have it easier than you? Are you a victim? Or are you deliberately telling empowering stories about yourself. Do you believe everyone is responsible for their own life? Or do you think their life is your job, and your life is their job? Which one is more empowering for everyone? Which one is actually possible?

Set an intention to listen to your own thoughts and stories. Really listen to what you have been believing because you can’t change anything until you change your beliefs. And you can’t change your beliefs until you stop repeating them.

Hire a coach, make a pact with a great friend, do whatever you have to do to start becoming conscious of your stories and who you believe yourself to be. If the story is empowering and feels good, keep it. If it is dis-empowering and feels bad, it’s time to let it go and tell a new story.

There Is SO Much Power In Your Story

You can attract completely new circumstances, find emotions you never knew you had, achieve enormous clarity and focus, in short, change your life when you tell new stories.

Tell new stories, live a new life. Tell stories that feel good, live a life that feels good. Tell stories that feel great,  live a great life!
